Summary :

A diary kept by Julia A. Thompson during her first year of marriage, living in Londonderry, Vermont. In it she documents the weather, social acitivities and housework. The diary runs from January 1st through July 10th. There are later, sparser entries by her husband, Leroy S. Thompson, including two entries documenting the birth of their two sons. The back fo the diary contains accounts kept by both Julia and Leroy. Three photographs accompany the diary: two portraits, one of Benjamin Franklin Fellows and one of his brother, John Davis Fellows, both of Topsham, Vermont, and a photograph of the Fellows family farm.

Biographical or historical data :

Julia Adelia Doe, the daughter of James Madison and Lucinda (Dickey) Doe, was born on March 10, 1850 in Corinth, Vermont. She married Leroy S. Thompson of Londonderry, Vermont in 1874. They had two children: Albert, born August 23, 1875 and Floyd, born on February 29, 1887.
