Summary :

Scrapbook created by Isabella Barrows Peck for her children. The scrapbook contains a collection of engraved and color-print pictures, often embellished with découpé frames and decoration. The subjects of the images revolve around home life, childhood, animals, flora, patriotism, religion, history. There are also some poems and inspirational captions. The scrapbook also contains two photographs of the Peck children, one labeled "Little Jim", probably James N.

Biographical or historical data :

Isabella Barrows was born May, 1846, in Montpelier, Vermont, the daughter of Thomas C. and Caroline Barrows. She married George A. Peck sometime around 1870. Mr. Peck worked at Barrows & Peck, a Montpelier hardware store. They had three children: George B. (b. 1874), Elizabeth B. (born 1874), and James N. (born 1879).
