The photograph album covers the years 1936 to 1938 and includes many views of Brattleboro, Vermont and the surrounding landscape. As well, the album includes photographs of events in Brattleboro, such as a fire in 1937 and the Brattleboro High School Alumni Parade, and activities such as skiing and sugaring. The album also includes photographs documenting trips Clarissa made to other Vermont towns, such as Montpelier and Northfield, as well as many photographs of the campus and students of Keene Normal School. On a personal level, the album records many images of Clarissa's friends and of her fiance and his family, farmers in Newfane, Vermont.

Born on May 4, 1912 in Brattleboro, Vermont, Clarissa L. Edwards was the daughter of Leslie S. Edwards (1877-1966) and Clarissa Reed Edwards (1882-1965). Clarissa graduated from the Keene Normal School in 1938 and married Harry Mack Ketcham (1910-1984) on June 24, 1940. She was an accomplished photographer. Clarissa died on January 4, 2002.
