Biographical or historical data :

The Eastern Magnesia Talc Company was formed December 4, 1923 in Burlington, Vermont. The company was formed from the purchase of the assets of Eastern Talc Company, a Maine corporation doing business in Vermont, and Magnesia Talc Company, a Vermont corporation, having its principle office in Waterbury, Vermont. At the time the company was formed, it was also in negotiations with American Mineral Co. of Johnson, Vermont to merge its assets. This merger was finalized in 1926. By 1951, the Eastern Magnesia Talc Company had become one of the largest producers of raw talc in the world. In 1965, the Eastern Magnesia Talc Company was purchased by Johnson & Johnson.
