Summary :

Daybook kept by Silas Pond for the years 1842 through 1848. His entries at times resemble a farm diary, as he lists the different chores accomplished, including drawing loads of wood, thrashing oats, shearing sheep, and other farm activities. Several pages at the end of the account book list the names of farm laborers and the wages paid.

Biographical or historical data :

Silas Pond, the son of Silas and Lucinda (Lee) Pond, was born in Panton, Vermont on August 27, 1798. He married Angeline Pond, the daughter of Asahel and Lovisa (Ward) Pond, on February 27, 1822. Silas Pond had a prosperous farm in Panton, Vermont.
