Summary :

Daybook kept by Benjamin Fassett for the years 1796 to 1813. Several portions of the account book have been devoted to the settlement of the Henry Walbridge Estate, of which Benjamin Fassett was executor. The settlement of the estate was disputed by Ebenezer Walbridge, the uncle of Henry Walbridge. Henry Walbridge (1776-1797) was the son of Henry Walbridge (1744-1777) who was killed at the Battle of Bennington. The rest of the accounts relate to Fassett's business transactions.

Biographical or historical data :

Benjamin Fassett, the son of John and Mary (Wooley) Fassett, was born in Hardwick, Massachusetts on March 21, 1757. He moved to Bennington, Vermont with his parents in 1761. He married first Betty Dewey, the daughter of Elijah Dewey, and second, Mrs. Hetty Alvah. He died February 11, 1816.
