Two account books of Jonas Hall documenting his blacksmithing activities in Calais, Vermont. The first account book covers the years 1810 to 1815, while the second account book covers the years 1824 to 1838.

Biographical or historical data :

Jonas Hall was born January 13, 1782 in Sutton, Massachusetts, the son of John and Dolly (Ward) Hall. He married Nancy Tucker of Calais, Vermont in 1808. He worked as a blacksmith and began to manufacture axes and scythes. He also owned and improved a sawmill. He died December 23, 1852.
