Record book for Captain Joseph Morrill's Company, 31st U.S. Infantry Regiment for the years 1813 and 1814. The record includes equipment lists for each soldier, general orders, size roll and description list, containing the height and general appearance of each soldier, the muster roll, and a list of men who died while enlisted in the company.

Biographical or historical data :

Joseph Morrill was born in Brentwood, New Hampshire on December 16, 1775, the son of Abel and Hannah (French) Morrill. His family moved to Danville, Vermont in 1787. He was a appointed captain of a company of infantry in the 31st Regiment on April 30, 1813. He was stationed near Derby Line and near Lake Champlain. He resigned his commission on December 1, 1814.
