Biographical or historical data :

John Wood was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on July 20, 1789, the son of John and Lydia (Hosmer) Wood. In 1814 John and his brother, Cyrus Wood, came to Montpelier, Vermont and started a cabinetmaking business. John Wood married Mary Waterman on January 1, 1815. They had three children, Henry, Harriet and Thomas Waterman, the artist. John Wood died on January 14, 1871.
