|
Letters from former members of the Fourteenth Vermont Volunteer Regiment to Dr. Lucretius D. Ross of Poultney, Vermont, giving information as to injuries and disabilities incurred in service at Fairfax Court House, Wolf Run Shoals, Virginia, and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and asking his assistance in obtaining pensions for them. There are also notes by Dr. Ross relating to the letters.

Lucretius D. Ross was born on July 4, 1828 in Poultney, Vermont, the son of Paul and Charlotte (Dewey) Ross. He graduated from Middlebury College in 1852 and studied medicine at the Castleton Medical College from 1852 to 1857. He was commissioned assistant surgeon of the Fourteenth Vermont Volunteer Regiment on October 8, 1862 and mustered out July 30, 1863. He died in Poultney, Vermont on August 25, 1902.
