Biographical or historical data :

Celia Strong, the daughter of James A. Strong and Deborah Randall, was born in North Wolcott, Vermont on July 2, 1863. She taught school for a time and then married Frank Melendy, a lumberman, on March 7, 1885. In 1886 she obtained a divorce and in 1887 she married Dr. Charles P. Newton of Underhill, Vermont. After his death in 1908, she worked as a companion and nurse. She died June 17, 1954.
