The collection is organized alphabetically by submitter, with family name(s) listed in parentheses.

Biographical or historical data :

The "Vermont Families in 1791" project was based on a similar project developed by the Maine Genealogical Society. Using data from the first census of the United States, contributors researched families living in Vermont in 1791. The minimum research for each family carries each name through the children of all male children of the entrant that were born in Vermont. The project, to date, has produced two volumes of Vermont Families in 1791, edited by Scott A. Bartley.
