Biographical or historical data :

Milford "Miff" Keene was born in Russell, New York, August 21, 1921, the son of Glen and Jennie (Tupper) Keene. He moved with his family to a farm in Woodbury, Vermont, at the age of three. His formal schooling ended in the eighth grade.

During his adult life he resided in Plainfield where he owned and operated a farm; he later lived and worked on the M. Walter Smith Farm, Hollister Hill, Plainfield, Vermont. At age 27 he had a heart attack and had a near-death experience. He had two daughters. He wrote poetry about every day life and about people he knew, self-publishing it with the help of friends. Miff Keene died September 9, 1995.
