Summary :

The accounts concern farm produce, livestock, liquor and labor. The first page and the last page contain genealogical information. Weston also noted the names and dates of people who came to work for him.

Biographical or historical data :

Joseph Weston was born in Springfield, Vermont on March 31, 1774. On the cover of the account book is written "Rockingham Oct. 15, 1806". Weston moved back to Springfield in 1806 and to the "Hard Scrabble" area of Springfield in 1817. In 1837, he moved to Weathersfield, Vermont, where he died on January 14, 1838. Weston married Lucinda Mather on February 3, 1801 and they had eight children.
