Biographical or historical data :

William Cune Holbrook of Brattleboro, Vt., was born on July 14, 1842. He was commissioned a 1st Lieutenant in Co. F, 4th Vermont Regiment, on September 7, 1861. On January 22, 1862, he was promoted to Major and transferred to the 7th Vermont Regiment. On August 27, 1862, he was once again promoted, this time to Colonel. On June 2, 1865 he resigned his commission. He died on March 27, 1904, of nephritis and was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery at Brattleboro on March 30 of that year.
