Biographical or historical data :

John H. Hamlin was born in Ireland on December 25, 1846. By 1862, he was living in Burlington, Vt., and enlisted as a Private in Co. A, 13th Vermont Regiment, on October 10 of that year. He was wounded on July 3, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pa., and was mustered out of the service on July 21, 1863. He died on August 29, 1919, in Bristol, Vt., and was buried in the Catholic Cemetery there.
