Biographical or historical data :

Albert F. Dodge was born on September 23, 1838, at Barre, Vt. He enlisted as a Corporal with Co. B, 10th Vermont Regiment, on July 28, 1862. He was subsequently promoted to Sergeant on February 17, 1863. He was discharged on March 26, 1864, to allow his commissioning as a Captain in the 39th U.S. Colored Troops on April 5, 1864. He was promoted to Brevet Major on March 13, 1865, and was mustered out with his regiment on December 4, 1865. He died of hemorrhage on November 21, 1914, at Barre, Vt., and was buried there in Elmwood Cemetery.
