Biographical or historical data :

Charles W. Clark was born on May 14, 1838, at Berlin, Vt. He enlisted in the 11th Vermont Regiment on September 1, 1862, and was made a Commissary Sergeant. On March 29, 1863, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and assigned to Co. G, and was subsequently promoted to 1st Lieutenant on November 2, 1863. He was mustered out of the service on June 24, 1865. He died of heart trouble on October 11, 1896, at Montpelier, Vt., and was buried there in Green Mountain Cemetery.
