Papers of the Greene family of Saint Albans, Vt., 1835-1880, including an order from Horace Greene to Ornan Tuller to gather Saint Albans men for military training, 1835; a letter from Luther Annenius Greene, in Panama, to his wife, Adelia, and brother, Anson Draper Greene, in Saint Albans, February 7, 1852; two Civil War letters from Albert R. Greene of the 1st Vermont Cavalry, 1863; and a form letter from the War Department, Office of Commissary-General of Subsistence, concerning Albert R. Greene, 1880.

Biographical or historical data :

Albert R. Greene, of Saint Albans, Vt., enlisted as a Private in Co. L, 1st Vermont Cavalry, on August 16, 1862. He was taken prisoner July 6, 1863, probably at Hagerstown, Md. He died at Richmond, Va., on October 12, 1863, and is buried at the National Cemetery there.
