Diary of John H. Williams of Fairhaven, Vt., a private in Co. F. of the 14th Vermont Regiment. The diary is from August 18, 1862 to September 22, 1863, and is written in Welsh. An English translation is included.

Biographical or historical data :

John H. Williams was born at Wales in 1840. He emigrated to Fair Haven, Vt., and enlisted as a Private in Co. F, 14th Vermont Regiment, on September 3, 1862. He was mustered out of the service on July 30, 1863. He died of consumption on February 6, 1872, and was buried in the West Street Cemetery at Fair Haven, Vt.
