Biographical or historical data :

Orlando P. Sweet was born in Richford, Vt., in 1838. During the Civil War he was an assistant surgeon at Rush Barracks Hospital and Carver General Hospital, both in Washington, D.C. He died of heart disease on January 8, 1872, in Lowell, Vt.
